Prayer Times — Privacy Policy

Prayer Times (“App”) is developed by destek@namazvakitleri.co. The app is offline-first and contains no ads, third-party analytics SDKs, user tracking (ATT/IDFA), accounts, or in-app purchases. This policy is published in Turkish and English for store listings; the app UI supports 30 languages.

Data Stored on Device

The app stores the following on your device only:

• Location: Prayer times and qibla (GPS or manual city/district).
• Settings: Calculation method, madhhab, theme, notifications, language, text size, silent-mode preferences.
• Reading progress: Library, Quran (including favorites), and resume position.
• Dhikr: Counts/rounds and optional short completion history.
• Debt records (optional): Text, photos, videos — device only; encrypted ledger.
• Zakat / inheritance / wasiyyah saves (optional): Inputs and result summary — optional encrypted vault.
• Downloaded content (optional): Quran audio cache, language/library packs — in app storage.

This data is not sent to developer servers, sold, or shared for advertising. There is no developer backend.

Permissions

• Location: Prayer times and qibla while in use. If denied, choose a city manually.
• Notifications: Prayer reminders, persistent countdown card, debt due dates, optional daily content.
• Photo library: Save verse/hadith images (with consent).
• Camera: Debt documents/witness photos or video (with consent).
• Microphone (iOS): Debt witness video; Android records silent video (microphone blocked).
• Exact alarms (Android): So reminders and timed surfaces fire on time.
• Do Not Disturb / notification policy (Android, optional): For prayer silent mode; without your grant, auto-silence does not run.
• Foreground media service (Android): Continues user-started Quran recitation with the screen off and lock-screen controls.

Battery-optimization or OEM “autostart” screens are opened only as settings shortcuts; no personal data is collected through those prompts.

Third-Party Services (Optional Network)

When online, only necessary technical data may be sent:

• Open-Meteo (fallback wttr.in) — weather; coordinates only.
• ezanvakti.imsakiyem.com — optional Turkey live prayer/khutbah freshness; region catalog id; never raw GPS.
• api.aladhan.com — Hijri verification/calibration; date only.
• everyayah.com — Quran audio download when you start playback.
• Exchange APIs (optional): finance.truncgil.com / finans.truncgil.com, api.frankfurter.app, open.er-api.com, api.exchangerate.host — FX/metal rates for debt, zakat, and inheritance calculators.
• CDN / packs: namazvakitleri.co and signed mirrors (prayer data, language and content packs); SHA-256 verified.
• Translation (optional): when downloading language/library packs, English text snippets may go over HTTPS to Google Translate (gtx/at), Lingva mirrors, or MyMemory; no PII.
• OS reverse geocoding: display names from GPS may use the device platform geocoder (Apple/Google); not sent to a developer server.
• Store version check (optional): Apple iTunes Lookup on iOS for update info; Play listing link on Android — no account identifiers are sent by us.

No name, phone, or email is sent to these services.

Notifications, Widget & Watch

Prayer, debt due-date, and optional content reminders are scheduled locally. Optional persistent countdown notification and home-screen widget show the next prayer. Wear OS / Apple Watch mirror phone data locally when paired; there is no separate cloud account. If you deny notification permission, those notifications are not sent.

Prayer Silent Mode (Android)

An optional feature may manage Do Not Disturb / silent state around prayer windows with your grant. Preferences and session state stay on device. iOS does not allow apps to silence the phone automatically; reminders only are shown there.

Quran Recitation Audio

Audio is downloaded from everyayah.com when you play and cached on device. Background audio and, on Android, a media foreground service with lock-screen controls keep playback going with the screen off; the service ends when you stop or playback finishes.

Language Packs & UI

Turkish and English are embedded; other UI languages ship as packs or optional downloads. Download/translation covers app strings only; personal content is not sent.

Ads, Analytics, and Purchases

No ads, third-party analytics SDKs, user tracking, accounts, or in-app purchases. The app is free.

Android — Sensitive Permissions

Exact alarms are requested so prayer reminders and related timed surfaces fire on time (as declared in Play Console). Microphone is blocked on Android. The media foreground service is only for user-started Quran recitation. Do Not Disturb access is requested only for silent mode, with your consent.

Data Retention & Encryption

Data lives in AsyncStorage, SecureStore (when available), and the app private directory. Uninstalling removes on-device data.

The debt ledger is encrypted with a hardware-backed secure-keystore key (AES-256) where supported. The zakat/inheritance/wasiyyah vault, if you set a password, uses PBKDF2 + authenticated AES-256; the password stays on device.

Debt Module Disclaimer

An on-device personal record tool with no backend. It does not replace legal contracts or advice. The developer is not a party to your debts; you bear full responsibility for accuracy and outcomes.

Zakat, Inheritance & Wasiyyah — Disclaimer

These tools provide automated estimates for information only; they are not official fatwa, legal, notarial, or financial advice. Results are not guaranteed. The developer is not a party to collection, distribution, execution, or tax filing.

• Zakat: Nisab and amounts follow the madhhab selected in Settings (e.g. Hanafi, Shafi‘i, Maliki). Rates, debt offsets, hawl, and madhhab differences affect outcomes; enter rates manually when live rates are unavailable.
• Inheritance: Core fixed shares (fara’id); awl, radd, hajb, and complex families may not be fully automated. Spouse rules for surplus return may depend on the selected madhhab.
• Wasiyyah: Drafts to non-heirs only; under Hanafi guidance at most one-third of the estate. Use a notary and qualified scholar for binding wills.
• Saves & PDF: Personal notes only; not official documents or court evidence. Optional encrypted vault stays on device.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
